Good and Welfare means not just the membership, but their communities and everyone in them. These include our Local's many charitable endeavors such as our United Way campaign, Special Olympics Charity Bowl, Moisie's Minds, Adopt-A-Family program and the Spirit Of Solidarity Monument in downtown Grand Rapids, MI.

    The purpose of the monument is, as Jay Egan, President of the Communications Workers of America Local 4034 and President of the Labor Heritage Society put it:

    "We wanted to honor the bravery of the striking immigrant workers in 1911, and we also wanted . . . to educate future generations about the role labor people played in the establishment of the city."
